Let's go over the kinematics problem that our program solves. The problem deals with an sports training exercise called the ``squat.''
What is a Squat?
The squat is an exercise for developing strength between the knees and the waist. To perform a squat, you place a weight on your upper back, about 2 inches below your shoulders. You then bend your ankles, knees, and hips--as if you were sitting down--so as to keep the weight directly above your feet. At the bottom of the squat your thighs are in a near-horizontal position.
From there you then return to the fully upright position by reversing the motion--in other words, you stand up, still keeping the weight directly above your feet.
