Bees is an active network execution environment that downloads and executes
communication protocols written in Java. The system provides a rich
environment for mobile code, a flexible authentication and authorization
mechanism, capability-based access to privileged resources, and services for
discovering and monitoring neighboring nodes. Bees can also be combined with
the other Janos components to enable isolation, termination, and resource
control over mobile code. The ultimate goal of Bees is to provide an
environment that can make a machine's resources available to a network without
binding them to a particular network protocol and server implementation.
Bees will run on JDK 1.4.x or better. It also runs on the
JanosVM v1.0.0. Bees relies on the
Janos Java NodeOS.
