What do mean by the "parts of the system" exactly?  Do you mean
internal parts of ANTS? Or do you mean ANTS, JnodeOS, Moab, OSKit?

Nothing specific about ping has been done.  We've got a bunch of
ANTS documentation available:

Specifically, the On_IDs link at the bottom should answer your PID/MID
question.
