About this Model

Detailed Description/Unique Modeling Approaches

This model was generated in compliance with the "first summer make an animated model" program. Everything except the sky and the balls are made from the surface constructor. The fingers, thumb, palm and cuffs were modeled as separate pieces and then positioned by using anchors. This allowed them to be animated. Every item in the scene is texture mapped.

Difficulties:

The main difficulties in the model came from portions of Alpha 1 that were then in flux. For instance, scaling one hand by -1 made it not render properly within ray. The reason was that the normals were not correct anymore. They appeared correct in motif3d but were not correct (since they were now living in a left hand coordinate system).
