STC Conferencing

This page describes how to establish a two-way communication for holding a conference or receiving a broadcast over the STC video link.

Setup

Patch panel

1. STC should always be patched to VTR6. Verify this connection.
2. Patch VTR6 to the annex monitors (ANX TV E and ANX TV W), using the cable with the splitter so that each monitor receives a signal.

Annex

1. Plug the table microphones into the sockets on the north wall of the Annex and position the microphones as desired.
2. Turn on the sound amplifier in the Annex equipment rack.
3. Turn on the video monitor in the Annex equipment rack.
4. Position the video camera as desired and frame the image using the focus and zoom controls and the video monitor as a reference.

Cleanup

The patch panel can be left in the STC conferencing configuration.

Annex

1. Move the video camera as far out of the traffic way as possible. Aim the camera at something that identifies us as Utah.
2. If you used the viewfinder monitor mounted on the camera, turn its brightness and contrast controls all the way down.
3. Turn off the video monitor in the Annex equipment rack.
4. Turn off the sound amplifier in the Annex equipment rack.
5. Unplug the table microphones and carefully coil the microphone cables on the conference table.
