Frequently Asked Questions and Things to Remember:

• If I'm leaving for vacation, who do I tell?
  
  The best way to tell everyone that you will be gone is to modify these files (by using emacs or the like):
  • Just add your name & the date as it is shown to:
    $vacation which is the alias to
    /res/alpha1/src/projects/local/98/vacations
    
  • You also need to change ~alpha1/.calendar by adding something like:
    "<< yourName Gone" on the start date and "yourName Back>>" on the day you'll be back

• HOURLY EMPLOYEES ONLY: When/where do I hand in my hours and when do I get paid?
  
  We get paid every two weeks.
  Hours are due every other Wednesday by 5:00pm in the CS front office, the forms are on counter, just ask Mary Rawlinson or Shawn Darby if you have questions.
  Payday is the following week on Friday. However, there is a two week delay.

• Errors: What do I do when I find typos or errors/bugs?
  If you ever find bugs even small things like typos, fix them or ask someone to show you how but if you can't fix it & your sure its a bug & not a feature, fill out the Bug Report Form.

• Monthly Reports
  These progress reports to be turned in at end of every month, you can either wait & do it month by month or just add to the file as day by day or week by week. To find your file cd to $reports (/res/alpha1/src/projects/local/darpa), and from there change directories to the correct month & then use emacs to edit the template under you name.

• Working Directories
  You'll need to have one of these set up. Everything you change or add to the current web documentation or programming changes will be made to copies of these files which are check out thru cvs , stored in your working directory. Remember, your directory should be updated daily.
